MAY I, through your columns, thank all those who so strongly supported Marlborough's recent production of the town play, Wheels of Time.
Our sponsors gave their financial support early on, so that the production was able to proceed.
Ainstie Farms kindly provided the tractor and trailer stage. Pewsey Vale Riding Centre willingly donated the use of horses and provided supporting staff.
Ebu, the donkey and her handlers, came from Temple Farm, Marlborough firefighters reproduced the Great Fire and the Rotary Club volunteered the essential stewarding for the event.
The performance of the Royal Marines Band was arranged by HMS Marlborough, the court room set was built by students of Marlborough College and the banners in the town were positioned and maintained by the Chamber of Trade.
The statue of King John was manoeuvred into position by Baverstock Developments.
More than 130 townsfolk were involved in the production on stage and behind the scenes and I am grateful to them all for giving their time, patience and tolerance through the six weekends of rehearsal.
That so many townsfolk and visitors witnessed the production was both reward and compliment to them, and to all who had made the production possible.
And to our audiences thank you for supporting the play so strongly and enthusiastically.
