I was wondering if anyone can explain why the High Street has been closed for two full days for a fun fair.
I do think the local council has gone mad. It's an absolute disgrace that the main artery of the town is closed. This affects many locals who live, work and own a business in the High Street, who are disrupted in such a dramatic way.
The High Street seems to be closed at the drop of a hat these days. How many times this year will it close charter celebrations, jazz, mop, Spirit of Christmas, the list goes on?
The cost to locals must be quite considerable and I don't just mean in monetary terms.
I do understand some local councillors will want to celebrate such things as the charter but I do think Marlborough should start living in the present and plan for the future a little more.
I don't recall people being asked beforehand if these events were wanted in the first place.
