TROWBRIDGE businessman Thomas Rothschild has appeared before a judge in the latest stage of an appeal to win a liquor licence for his restaurant and pub.
West Wiltshire District Council and Wiltshire Police Authority objected to Mr Rothschild's licence bids earlier this year.
Magistrates in Chippenham turned down all the applications relating to Shires Tavern, Murphy's Rest and Market Restaurant, forcing the businessman to appeal.
The latest hearing, in Swindon on Friday, ironed out details of the appeal hearing, including the amount of court time needed.
Mr Rothschild dropped the application for an Irish-themed pub on The Mill complex when he first submitted plans for the shopping precinct in 2001.
Neighbours living nearby feared a pub could turn the area into a revellers rat-run.
Police and town councillors also objected to the plans.
All three applications will be heard together, with the appeal expected to last a day. A date has yet to be set.
