Ref. 31066-42TOTS at a Wroughton nursery were cheering on two Georges yesterday as they took part in a charity toddle.
Some of the 40 children from Asquith Nursery donned Crosses of St George for the half-mile challenge to raise cash for the charity Barnardos and Lyneham toddler George Mitchell, who has a brain tumour.
Nursery manager Theresa Birch said the children wanted to show support for both the England squad and three-year-old George.
She said: "We have sat down with the children and explained to them why this little boy is ill.
"Some of the parents of children who attend this nursery work at RAF Lyneham so it seemed a fitting and worthwhile cause.
"The children loved it and were very excited as were the staff."
George's parents, Fraser and Sophie, who work at the RAF base, hope to raise £70,000 to send their son to New York for pioneering surgery should conventional treatment here fail.
