Members of the Swindon Stop the War Coalition will be taking to the streets this week protesting about the handover of sovereignty in Iraq.
Organisers are planning to meet at noon on Wednesday at the war memorial in Regent Street, before an afternoon of street theatre and songs.
Andy Newman, secretary of the coalition, said: "We are completely in favour of Iraq being handed over to the Iraqis, but this handover of sovereignty isn't real.
"It is a stunt for the American presidential elections.
"The American occupation army will stay, and all the key decisions will still be taken by the Americans."
During the street theatre organisers will also be publicising a public meeting on July 12, which will feature a speech by anti-war Labour MP Alan Simpson.
The meeting starts at 7pm at Queens Park Community Centre in Euclid Street.
