Scores of golfers took to the greens to raise cash for CALM, the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Movement.
Some 116 fundraisers took part in the 11th annual golf day at Wrag Barn, Highworth.
The Mayor of Swindon, Coun Derek Benfield, teed off the competition in the final engagement of his mayoral year. And while the competitors enjoyed a mostly rain-free day last Thursday, the charity was thrilled to receive around £5,000, which will go towards providing support to local families who have a child on treatment for cancer or leukaemia.
Chairman Don Macarthur said: "This is a great tribute to the support CALM has received from both local businesses and golfers, and will be really helpful in enabling us to continue our support for some needy local families.
"But for the lure of a football match in Lisbon, which called a halt to the auction, the proceeds would have been higher still."
