HIGHWORTH parents have the chance to learn the art of storytelling.
Reading aloud to children at a young age can give them a lifelong love of literature.
Now, Highworth library has joined forces with the Swindon Learning Partnership to run two storytelling workshops.
Sue Haymer, of Highworth library, said: "The workshops will give parents the chance to pick up a few easy-to-learn techniques to improve their storytelling."
The hour-long workshops start at 10.15am on Tuesday, July 27 and Tuesday, August 24.
Sessions are free, but places are limited to 15.
Educational experts have been saying for many years that reading to a child from an early age encourages a curiosity and even a love of books.
This means that children will go on to see reading and writing as pleasures rather than chores.
