SWINDON workers are being urged not to get too hot under the collar this summer.
Recruitment firm Blue Arrow is passing on tips to workers to prevent them from losing concentration or even becoming short-tempered with staff.
Simone Makepeace, director of Blue Arrow's office division said: "Feeling hot and bothered at work can lead to low morale, reduced productivity and stress.
"Although many offices now benefit from air conditioning, blinds and other means of making the summer more bearable, it's also possible to help yourself by taking a few additional steps to keep your cool."
Among the ideas are:
Work in the shade, making good use of blinds and shutters.
Drink plenty of water even if not feeling thirsty.
Choose your seating position don't seat near IT equipment or spotlights, which might have cooling fans churning out hot air.
Get out at lunchtime resist the temptation to work through lunch.
Plan business travel sensibly and even suggest that some meetings are held outside.
