31087-04CHILDREN from Drove Road Primary School had fun at their summer fete despite the rain because it was held indoors.
While it was miserable and wet outside, the school hall was a hive of activity, with face painting, games and stalls.
And there were attractions outside as well for people who didn't mind the wet weather.
These included a jousting game and a chance to see a police car.
Aiden Bragg, seven, came to the fete with his dad, Tom, who is a special constable.
Tom had brought his patrol vehicle so the children could have a closer look.
Aiden said: "I want to be a policeman when I grow up."
Madhu Sharma, six, was also at the fete.
She said: "I'm having a great time and I don't mind the weather."
Organisers had also planned to hold a carnival procession but it had to be cancelled due to the rain.
