31089-23WOOLLY creatures normally found amid the hills of South America made a trip to the Drove Road Veterinary Centre as part of its annual fun day.

Llamas were on show at the centre's open day, when it raised money for good causes.

This year funds amounted to £1,950, which will benefit the Guide Dogs for the Blind charity.

Other attractions included pony rides, farm animals, a bee-keeper and vintage cars. The fire brigade also did a display.

There was also a doggy fashion show with canine models strutting their stuff to the Right Said Fred tune I'm too Sexy for my Shirt.

Three members of staff Anne Walton, Jo Mitchell and Sue Rolf are also doing the SAS Challenge in aid of the centre's chosen charity.

Jane Carter, marketing co-ordinator, said: "The day was a chance for people to look behind the scenes and have fun as well. It was brilliant.

"It started raining as soon as the event started but the weather improved after that.

"We wanted to reach the £2,000 mark but it is still a good amount.

"I want to say a big thank you to everyone who helped raise money for the charity."
