Internet pervert Andrew Royle has been warned he faces the prospect of a substantial prison sentence after he was caught with child porn on his computer for the second time.

Royle, 29, was found to have sickening picture and movie files of children after friends tipped off police when they were asked to mend one of his machines.

Royle had continued to download the perverted images despite being put on a probation order and having been ordered to go on a sex offenders' programme for similar offences in 2001.

Now a judge at Swindon Crown Court has warned Royle that he may face a substantial jail term for the offences.

The ten specimen charges of possessing indecent images took place less than two years after Royle avoided jail for setting up a members-only website for child porn.

Guy Knell, prosecuting, told magistrates that in March 2003 Royle bought a computer but a couple of weeks later it developed a fault.

He gave the machine to some IT friends to see if they could help and while they were trying to find what was wrong they stumbled upon 14 shocking images of children.

They contacted the police, who obtained a search warrant and raided Royle's home on Station Hill, Chippenham, where they seized a second computer.

Mike Pulsford, defending, told magistrates that his client had not paid for the images, made no subscriptions to illicit websites, did not show the images to anyone else and made no commercial gain from them.

He said "They were for his personal view and downloading."

Royle, who now lives in Ripley Road, Old Town, Swindon, pleaded guilty to ten charges of possessing indecent photographs of children.

When he appeared at Swindon Crown Court for the latest matters, Judge Tom Longbotham adjourned the case for pre-sentence reports and a risk assessment. Royle was released on bail to be sentenced next month.
