DISTRAUGHT pet owner Julia Cosgrove is considering cancelling her Turkish holiday because her beloved moggy Rocky is still missing.
A fortnight ago Ms Cosgrove, 32, of Pewsham, Chippenham, appealed to Gazette readers to help find the ex-rescue cat, who she lost when she took him to see the vet.
Ms Cosgrove is due to go on holiday for two weeks, but is concerned in case Rocky comes home when she is not there.
She has scoured the gardens in the area where he was last seen, and even managed to track him down, but he fled before she could catch him.
Ms Cosgrove, who works in the finance department at the Olympiad, said: "I want him home, because I miss him a lot," she said.
"I am meant to be going on holiday, but now I'm not really looking forward to it.
"It's just awful going out and calling for him when he doesn't respond."
Ms Cosgrove got Rocky two years ago after he was taken to the vet where her sister works, following an accident.
He recovered from his injuries and went to live with Ms Cosgrove, but because of the accident he became very shy.
Ms Cosgrove took Rocky to the Hale Veterinary Surgery in Langley Road, but he jumped out of his carrier and raced across the car park and over a high wall.
She has put up posters and distributed leaflets with a photo of the cat in the area around Tugela Road where he ran off.
Ms Cosgrove's mother Bobbie Murray is now offering a £50 reward for the return of Rocky.
She said: "It's very difficult watching your daughter cry in front of you because her cat has vanished."
"I would love to get the cat back for her before she comes back from holiday.
"I am a bit concerned because so far we haven't heard from anyone."
