PETER Moxley, of Connexions@Lifetime Careers, has been elected vice-chairman of the South Wiltshire and Kennet Learning Partnership.
Mr Moxley, who is Connexions' guidance manager for Salisbury and a large part of Kennet, will look after the south Wiltshire area for the partnership, with which he has been involved almost from its foundation.
He said that his job with Connexions involved his being responsible for a team of advisors who work with 13-to-19-year-olds, helping them make the right learning choices.
He said he would be able to bring this experience, to the learning partnership.
"I see the key role for the partnership as promoting all kinds of learning to all age groups," he said.
"What we are trying to achieve is effective outreach - how do we get learning out to people who do not live within easy access of the city?
"I want to develop that area.
"We are also currently involved in a number of things that take forward the learning agenda - the learn about workshops, the partner events at which people meet to exchange good practice, and projects related to learning."
