A SMALL piece of Redlynch and Hale Cricket Club history was believed to have been made on Sunday when no fewer than five members of the same family were involved in the club's friendly against Brighton's Adelaide CC.
Andy Church and sons Ashley, Jon and Russell were all in the team, while mum Lin occupied her regular spot in the scorer's box.
The game saw Redlynch and Hale make 187, beating Adelaide by 56 runs.
Meanwhile the club's under 15s team visited Romsey Sports Centre, making an impressive 122-1 against a young OT's and Romsey side.
Ian Tanner made 40 before retiring under the league rules. Chris Castle, 21, and David Harris, 36 not out, then pushed the total on to an impressive 122-1 at the turnaround point.
In response, the home side were soon in trouble at 3-2 and, although Hughes and Smith added 46 for the third wicket, they were well behind the run rate, closing on 75-6 from their 18 overs.
Finley Charles took 2-15 in his first overs of the season.
All three of Redlynch & Hale's men's games were called off without a ball being bowled due to the inclement weather.
