AGE Concern Wiltshire is helping to raise awareness about bogus callers by staging three free shows.
Bogus callers often target elderly people living alone and dupe householders into gaining entry by claiming to be from an agency such as the water board.
While they are inside distracting the householder an accomplice searches through their home and steals money and other valuables.
The Trickster shows, performed by a travelling theatre troupe, will tell the story of George, an elderly man who becomes the victim of a distraction burglar.
The shows are at the Corn Exchange, Devizes, on Monday at 2pm, the Neeld Hall, Chippenham, on Tuesday at 10am and the Civic Centre, Trowbridge, at 2pm on Tuesday.
Everyone attending will also receive a Beat the Bogus caller information pack and also there will be local police community support officers. Winston, Wiltshire trading standards' crime fighting dog will also be there.
The shows are being held in memory of Roger Chalk, assistant director of Age Concern Wiltshire, who died recently. Mr Chalk worked tirelessly on behalf of older people in the county and personally organised the shows.
To get a free ticket for the shows call Age Concern Wiltshire on (01380) 727767.
