A MAJOR fundraising event being held in Wiltshire for the Multiple Sclerosis Society is fully booked.
The Bigfoot 2004 challenge involves 500 people walking 50 miles over three days in Wiltshire and in Cheshire.
A Bigfoot walk was held in Wiltshire and Cheshire last year of which there were 100 walkers in Wiltshire. Both walks raised £200,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
This year's walk in Wiltshire is from August 20-22 and there will be 250 walkers taking part.
On the first day 15 miles is covered from Pewsey through Savernake Forest and to Marlborough where the walkers will sleep in a specially created tented city. Doctors and physiotherapists will be on hand to check over the walkers.
The second day involves walkers covering 26 miles towards Rockley and around the Marlborough Downs up to Barbury Castle through East Kennett and back to Marlborough.
On the final day walkers will go through West Overton, West Kennet and finish at Avebury.
Janet Carpenter, the secretary of the Devizes branch of the MS Society, is taking part.
Mrs Carpenter became secretary of the society recently and has been training by walking the towpath of the Kennet and Avon Canal with her training companion Jenny Gunner.
Mrs Carpenter said: "The Bigfoot walk is getting bigger and bigger each year and they closed the entries about a month ago because they were full."
