John Bentley School pupils enjoyed an active week in the Netherlands on an exchange trip specially designed for sporty youngsters.
A group of 15 year nine pupils were awarded the chance to go to the Zeeland district of the Netherlands for their attitude, commitment and effort across school, including physical education.
During the trip the pupils toured the Amsterdam Arena, home to football team Ajax Amsterdam, where they learnt how the club is run.
They also participated in an Ultimate Frizbee tournament, a game where netball and American football meets frizbee, finishing first and second and beating their Dutch counterparts despite never having played the game before.
Nick Norgrove, head of PE, said: "They all loved the trip. Some of them were a bit apprehensive about staying with different families but it was okay. Every single one of them have said they want to go back. Thirty others want to go next time."
The school is planning a repeat trip next year. The Dutch school will be visiting John Bentley in return next May.
