TOWN councillor Richard Allen says his trial surgery at Marlborough Town Hall on Saturday was a success.
The independent East Ward town council member booked the council chamber at the town hall on Saturday morning. About a dozen people took advantage of his one-man surgery and went along to discuss either individual problems or town issues.
Afterwards he said: "It was very worthwhile. People came along to voice their concerns over a number of local issues ranging from footpaths and litter to the traffic in the town."
One of the issues he has pledged to pursue is the increasing traffic in Herd Street and Barn Street.
Coun Allen said: "One of the main concerns was about the nuisance young people are causing to residents in the Francklyn Acre area and which I will be taking up with the police."
Coun Allen still intends taking his turn at the regular monthly town council surgeries in the library.
The next will be on Saturday from 10am to 11am when councillors Peter Cossey and Maurice Cooper will be available to discuss local matters.
