Year 9 students from St John's School, Marlborough spent three days this week making banners to brighten up the town centre during next week's Jazz Festival.
A banner-making workshop in St Mary's Church was led by Marlborough artist Juliet Goodden-Richardson.
She initiated the project, called Twelve 03, after attending a community arts training scheme run by Kennet District Council last November and persuading Kennet, Marlborough Town Council and the Local Network Fund to finance the project.
Using brightly coloured silk-polyester the St John's students were given a free choice in interpreting the theme of jazz and music in their creations.
The banners were stitched by volunteers after the students glued their shapes together. The banners will be erected from the middle of next week.
