THE Isis AC match at Sutton Benger attracted a good entry, and they were rewarded with some good sport as the roach showed well.

But it was tench which proved the main individual catches, with match winner Eamon Byrne taking a cracker of 6lb 10oz in his winning weight of 16-12-0 taken using a quiver tip and feeder at peg 130.

Adam Carter (136) used worm to take three tench and roach for a 13-6-0 second-placed weight.

Pete Townsend on peg 120 had a similar mixed bag for 10-2-0, and was followed by Graham Rose 7-14-0, Malcolm Ockwell 8-11-0 and Steve Paul 6-8-0.

Kevin Bamford had another win in a Coleview-Rover Match on Sunday when he topped the weights in the first leg of the 'Pairs Cup' held at Bourton-on-the-Water and their Stanton Lake.

Kevin weighed in at Bourton with 96-6-0, beating Gary Laidler's 92-8-0 and Barry Jenkins' 78-9-0.

At Stanton Graham Cooper shone with a cracking 76-8-0 weight ahead of Keith Harris 26-5-0 and Alan Brown 23-3-0.

Highworth's Richard Barnett Memorial fished at Roughgrounds, was won by Brian Holness with 34-4-0 of mainly bream from Stuart Barnett 15-12-0; 3. Kenny Jefferies 13-9-0.

Peatmoor Juniors finished first and third in the BWB teams of four championships on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Froxfield.

The team of Ed Bryant, Kevin Covey, John Gaylard and Nathan Reeves dropped only one point to finish on 35 points.

Host club Reading were second with 25 points and the other Peatmoor team of Danielle Freeman, Marcus Cole, Jamie Read and Troy Weaver were third with 23 points.

Nathan Reeves was top individual with 15lb 1oz, including a tench of 4lb 8oz. Kevin Covey was third with 6lb 2oz, and the intermediate individual match was won by Martin Howard of Peatmoor with 9lb 11oz.

Peatmoor also had the third and fourth individuals, Daniel Smith with 3lb 14oz and Glen Picton with 3lb 11oz.

The second round of the Peatmoor Junior Summer League 10-13 year age group was won by Danielle Freeman with 17lb 14oz of pole caught bream and skimmers. Runner-up with 2lb 9oz was Ed Bryant.

The 14-16 year age group was won by Kevin Covey with 11lb 13oz. Runner-up with 9lb 6oz of roach was Nathan Reeves, and third with 7lb 10oz was Troy Weaver. Joint fourth were Jamie Read and John Gaylard with 4lb 2oz.
