Ref. 31131-13TRAVELLERS thrown off land at Blunsdon have set up camp on scrubland near Asda Wal-Mart.
And they say more are on the way.
The 20-strong group arrived at the site between Homebase and the former Old Grange Farm nursery on Monday.
And they claim around 70 more are to arrive by the weekend.
The new arrivals will bring horses, which will be left to graze on the site.
Traveller John Jones, 48, said the caravans would then be moved into the Asda Wal-Mart car park.
He added: "We will be there for around three weeks, and then we will pack up and head for the Royal Welsh Show.
"The car park will be ideal because we can use the toilet facilities at Asda.
"We will only use them when we are buying food, though.
"It will take Asda around three weeks to evict us, and by then we will be gone."
Mr Jones said that he had got permission from the North Swindon Development Company to camp on the land. "They said we could stay as long as we don't make a mess, and we don't intend to," he said.
No-one was from the North Swindon Development Company or Asda was available for comment.
The group was forced to leave Thames Water-owned land in Blundson on Monday.
