IN her letter to the Wiltshire Gazette & Herald last week, Sharon Charity suggests that the refurbishment of the science block at Devizes School was as a direct result of Government policy.
In fact the refurbishment was only made possible by the sale of a small piece of unused land that also helped to provide the all-weather pitch, which is a huge benefit to the whole community.
Could Sharon Charity please explain how 'the money Labour put into the health service from 2000 onwards is having a real impact' is affecting our local health services? With the current threat of closure for the award-winning Devizes maternity unit and the increasing financial deficit forcing Kennet and North Wiltshire Primary Care Trust to further reconfigure vital health services, Devizes is still waiting to see its promised new hospital finally built. What then is the true investment locally?
