A FORMER postman has released a CD to help raise money for a church appeal.
Paul Rossiter, 58, known as the 'running postie', is hoping the album will raise much-needed funds for Yarnbrook Chapel.
Mr Rossiter, a postman in Dilton Marsh for 21 years, said producing the CD Have You Heard? was his proudest moment, and he hopes the proceeds will help the chapel move towards its £25,000 goal.
Using a studio in Trowbridge, Mr Rossiter, of Westbury Road, compiled his CD, featuring 16 piano tracks.
He said: "It is classical, rock, country and blues. I started writing music in 1972 and just write it everywhere I go.
"When I was 25 years old I was bored working in the Empire Hotel and I just put pen to paper. It must be a gift.
"One time I was at a party and wrote down some tunes on a paper plate.
"I am so pleased to have a finished product.
"I am producing batches of 20 at a time to see how they sell but we have sold a lot already."
Speaking about his nickname among villagers in Dilton Marsh, he said: "I was known as the running postman as I ran everywhere.
"They tried to get me to slow down but it is just the way I am."
