NORTH WILTS JUNIOR CRICKET LEAGUE: AN OUTSTANDING all round performance by Robert Gillespie took Malmesbury to the top of the under 11s table as his side defeated Chippenham by five wickets.

Chippenham batted first and struggled for runs against accurate Malmesbury bowling, led by Gillespie who took 3-12. Brad Dawson (16) was the Chippenham top scorer as the home side struggled to 63 all out in 19.2 overs.

In reply, Gillespie (37) dominated the Malmesbury innings. He hit seven fours and was only dismissed when the scores were level.

CALNE maintained their winning streak, defeating leaders Chippenham by 28 runs.

Courtney Earl (34) and Luke Edwards (42 not out) got Calne off to a fine start, but once Earl was dismissed, only Edwards offered any resistance as Calne were bowled out for 103 in 29 overs.

James Vince (4-22) led the Chippenham attack and he was well supported by James Bull (2-18) and Nick Harrison (2-6).

Earl (3-10) then removed the top Chippenham batting and the leaders were struggling. James Bull (19) provided some resistance but, with Ben Kenway (3-15) and Edwards (2-17) also bowling well, Chippenham subsided to 75 all out in 34 overs.

Malmesbury batted first at home to Purton and declared on 133-4 after 35 overs.

In reply only opener Aaron Lee, who batted throughout for 21 not out, was able to cope with the penetrative Malmesbury bowling.

Anthony Cole was the pick of the bowlers taking a hat trick (all bowled) in his first over as the visitors were dismissed for just 39 in 19 overs to leave Malmesbury winners by 94 runs.

An aggressive hundred by James McLeod took Swindon to a comfortable seven wicket victory at Wootton Bassett.

Batting first the home side's innings of 201-8 was built around a fine innings of 80 from Tom Davies.

The Swindon innings was then completely dominated by McLeod who raced to 126 and enabled his team to reach their victory target in just 23 overs (Wootton Bassett 7 points, Swindon 23 points).

AN inspired spell of bowling from Swindon's Michael Wilson was too much for visitors Calne who were dismissed for just 49 in 20 overs.

Wilson took 5 wickets for just 5 runs in 5 overs and he was backed up by Simon Dill (3-15) and Elliott Read (2-16). Richard Barrett (35 not out) and Jamie Furkins then saw Swindon to a 10 wicket victory in just 12 overs.
