COUNCILLORS have accused housing bosses of acting like 'property developers' and called for a review into the conduct of West Wiltshire Housing Society.
Codford Parish Council has formally written to the Housing Corporation Regulator complaining about the way local residents have been treated.
The council claims West Wiltshire Housing Society has let its amenities fall into decline so it can use that as an excuse to sell properties at a profit.
The move follows complaints from Codford residents forced out of garages, from households in Heytesbury left with £3,500 sewerage maintenance bills and from elderly residents banned from registering at the half-empty Clover Grass Court in Bratton.
Codford parish council chairman Romy Wyeth has drafted the complaints.
She said: "These are not actions of a social landlord but of property developers hoping to fill their coffers.
"We thought it was only us having problems with the housing society until we spoke to people in Heytesbury and Bratton.
"We have had a substantial number of complaints from people who say they are being ignored or can't get through to the right person."
West Wiltshire Housing Society has denied the claims made by Codford Parish Council.
