WILTSHIRE'S hopes of retaining the South Western Counties League Championship were spoiled by Dorset at Gillingham, where the hosts won 114-112, taking 18 points to Wiltshire's four.
There were only two winning rinks for Wiltshire, Nick Grenfell's four winning well by 27-11 and Jeremy Haselton's rink recording a fine 29-12 success.
Scores (Wiltshire skips first): Terry Spreadbury 14, R Atkins 24; John Lucas 15, R Dowell 27; Adie Lloyd 12, M Grimsdale 17; Nick Grenfell 27, R Button 11; Jeremy Haselton 29, S Bryce 12; Rob Etherington 15, W. Payne 23.
Wiltshire will play their next match on July 11, when they make the long journey to Wadebridge to face Cornwall.
