SHOPPERS can now get help if they have a problem with goods or services bought on holiday.

The Citizens Advice Bureau has launched a new problem-solving website to help consumers who find purchases from other European countries don't work when they get home.

West Wiltshire bureau manager Sarah Cardy said: "More and more of us are travelling within Europe and don't think twice about spending our money on new purchases to take advantage of exchange rates and cheaper retail prices.

"It's also more common to buy things from other countries over the internet to make savings. So it is not surprising the European Consumer Centre run by Citizens Advice has had more complaints."

The consumer centre saw a 60 per cent rise in complaints about purchases made abroad in 2003 compared to the year before.
