AS there is still a mathematical possibility of Wiltshire qualifying for a Middleton Cup quarter final spot, the selectors have decided to minimise any changes to the team that won handsomely against Herefordshire at Ross-on-Wye.

But in order to give an opportunity to some players who have not yet taken part in the campaign, some team members have been rested for the clash with Warwickshire at Wootton Bassett tomorrow.

Steve Heseltine (Chippenham Town) and Nick Grenfell (Box) come in to replace Mick Crook and Tony Stevenson while Steve Snell is given an opportunity to prove himself as a Middleton Cup skip, with Dave Snell reverting to Steve's former position as three to Steve Warren.

"The selectors have every confidence that the nucleus of the side is good enough to beat any opposition and subsequently win the Middleton Cup. We believe it is only a matter of time, our current team is as strong as any we have ever fielded," said Middleton Cup manager Hedley Bowen.

Further changes could be forced if Graham Shadwell does not recover in time from the shoulder injury that forced him to withdraw from the England team taking part in the International Series at Llandrindod Wells this week.
