A TOP composer will help to set up a quirky new orchestra in Warminster.
Benjamin Ellin, conductor and composer, will join oboe player Amanda Wakelin-Smith, 24, to set up the orchestra.
Miss Wakelin-Smith, who lives in Warminster, said: "I'm hoping for a really good response."
She got fed up with travelling long distances to play in the Bournemouth Philharmonic Society and Hayes Symphony orchestras and said: "Wiltshire needs to provide more options for musicians.
"I have enjoyed playing with the other orchestras but feel there must be other people in my position, who have studied music and now have their instruments under the bed due to the lack of groups in the area."
Mr Ellin, a student of world-renowned conductor Sir Colin Davis, said: "I really believe that a sense of community is at the heart of what music is."
If you are Grade 5 or above and would like to join contact Miss Wakelin-Smith on 07900 694188.
