A WARMINSTER man is in hospital with severe facial and head injuries after an alleged late-night brawl.
Police are calling for witnesses after a man in his mid-30s was found bleeding in Portway Lane at 11.24 on Tuesday night.
It is believed the attack followed an argument between two groups of drinkers in the Nags Head pub earlier that evening.
Inspector Geoff Miles said: "We believe two groups of men left the pub at different times following an altercation.
"Later a member of the public found a man with head and facial injuries in Portway Lane after an apparent disturbance."
The man, who has not been named, was taken to Salisbury Gen-eral Hospital. No descriptions of the groups of men have been issued.
Witnesses to the alleged attack should call PC Jo Wyer at War-minster police on (01985) 847000.
