OWNERS of a popular pub have been fined for poor standards of kitchen hygiene.
Peter and Alison Eveleigh, owners of the Riverside Inn, Bradford on Avon, were fined £900 and ordered to pay £600 costs for not keeping the kitchen and equipment clean.
The couple were cleared of charges of possessing food unfit to eat and of not protecting food from sources of contamination.
Mr Eveleigh said when the pub was inspected in November his eye had gone off the ball because his mother in law had died.
He said: "It has been a really difficult six months."
