A Bradford on Avon mum will be heading out to Bosnia to use her healing hands to improve the lives of trauma victims.
Eleanor Bartlett, a reflexologist and physiotherapist will fly to Sarajevo, in the autumn to spend two weeks helping victims of rape, torture and bereavement.
She will join another volunteer in a house owned by charity Healing Hands.
She said: "There used to be concentration camps there and lots of land mines. They are going through physical and mental trauma.
"Because I work with people who have been traumatised anyway I feel that I want to help out.
"Volunteers only go for a fortnight so we don't get too emotionally involved."
Healing Hands was set up seven years ago and has since used gentle touch therapies to help about 10,000 war victims. It hopes to expand to cover other countries in the future.
Mrs Barlett, who works in Trow-bridge and Devizes, needs to raise £600 for the trip and on August 1 will take on a cycling challenge, aiming to ride from Bradford to the Dorset coast in just one day.
Anyone who wishes to donate money towards the venture can contact Mrs Bartlett on (01225) 862860.
