I represent a group of half a dozen power kite enthusiasts based in and around Trowbridge.

We are trying to find a suitable location to use our power kites and three wheel buggies/dirtboards in the evenings and at weekends. All we require is plenty of grassy space with no overhead power cables.

Our present spot is becoming overcrowded and is also used by members of the public for dog walking, picnicking and so on. We would very much like to find a location away from other users where we can play safely.

We are all members of the British Buggy Club and have our own third party insurance. We would police activity ourselves by ensuring that no-one else uses the area without insurance; experiences elsewhere in the country have led us to believe that this will be the only way to see our sport survive. The maximum line length on our kites is 40 metres so no-one would be interfering with airspace higher than that.

Given that we are wind-powered, we do not create air or noise pollution and our buggies/dirtboards will not damage the surface in any way whatsoever.

If you feel you would be able to accommodate us in any way please let me know. We can then discuss it further.
