Youngsters from Years 7, 8 and 9 at St Augustine's Catholic College put on three performances of wartime musical, The Evacuees this week.
Head of drama Kim Porter said: "The enthusiasm and commitment from the lower school was what drove the piece.
"They were so committed and worked very hard and there is a lot of talent there."
Over 50 youngsters were involved in the play, which tells the story of a group of young Second World War evacuees and their adventures in a very different community from the one they are used to.
Huge efforts were made to make the scenery and costumes as authentic as possible and included a model spitfire aeroplane coming through the ceiling.
