Ref. 31146-12THE N is for Nythe, the bird is for nature and the web is for Robert the Bruce and his inspiration never to give up.
And the sculpture at Nythe Primary School is the creation of local artist Gordon Dickinson.
He and partner Toni Robinson, who together form the No Added Sugar community art team, were called in to help brighten the school.
While Toni worked with the children to help then create more than 80 mini-sculptures, Gordon built the giant initial letter, based on the best of sketches submitted by pupils.
Gordon said: "We have done this sort of thing in many schools and it is very educational.
"The best part of it is that pupils often don't realise they are being educated because they are enjoying themselves too much!"
