I wonder if John Hunter (EA letters, June 23) has ever been near a wind turbine.
The one I visited at Swaffham in Norfolk is so well liked by the locals that planning permission for a second was quickly granted.
On the day of my visit, output from the turbine was close to its maximum of 1.5 megawatts. The noise was negligible and there were no dead birds.
I understand that the RSPB supports wind power in principle, provided that turbines are sited away from high concentrations of migrant birds.
