Youngsters across Swindon have been putting their creative skills to the test to raise awareness of dementia.

Children as young as four were invited to put their thinking caps on to produce a poster for the Alzheimer's Society.

This year's theme is the impact of dementia on children and young people.

The best posters will be on display in the food court of the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Village tomorrow from 10.30am to 4pm.

The winners will be awarded prizes from the Toy Zone shop.

Representatives from Kingshill Research Centre, based in Victoria Hospital, Okus Road, will also set up an information stall on the day.

The stall will include information about the pioneering work being carried out at the research centre

It will also detail a current study looking at how teenagers are affected when they have a grandparent diagnosed with dementia.

Anyone who is worried about their memory or interested in volunteering for research projects will be welcome to discuss this with staff on the day.

Alzheimer's Awareness Week 2004 began on Sunday.
