The chairwoman of the Swindon Stroke Support Group has stepped down from her role after 11 years.
June McGinn will not be standing at the next annual meeting but says she is happy to remain as a committee member and trustee.
She joined the Red Cross in 1965 when she lived in Sussex, and carried on working with the group when she moved to Kent and to Swindon in 1974.
Her Red Cross activities continued for a while in Swindon, during which time she was promoted to commandant.
She decided in the late 1970s that would be use her volunteering skills in a more hands-on manner.
She became a regular volunteer at the Hawthorn Centre, which she continued for nearly 20 years, combining the latter period with her initial involvement with Swindon Stroke Support Group.
She became chairwoman of the group in 1993.
