AFTER attending a couple of the Wyvern Theatre Youth Project performances, I just wanted to congratulate everyone in this year's spectacular production.

This is the second time I have known Pollyann Tanner to direct and choreograph The Sound of Music, having done so with Kentwood Choir in 2000. She really has directed two very completely different shows with both companies. Congratulations Pollyann.

Peter Dukes (Captain Von Trapp), Amy Cole (Maria), Hannah Trafford (Mother Abbess) played their parts really well and sang really well too.

As for the Von Trapp children, I have only seen group B play but they too were truly amazing.

Although this is a fantastic production I felt the buzz has been taken out of the project. Maybe it's because there are fewer children this year.

The project didn't seem the same without the kids taking up the aisles as much as they have in previous years.

It was really good seeing the auditorium much more full for this project, but why did not many people support the Phase II project earlier in the year?

I was a Youth Project manager in 1997 for My Fair Lady and learned so much.

Congratulations on a stunning production.
