TROWBRIDGE slipped further into relegation trouble on Saturday with a four wicket defeat at bottom of the table Winget.

The loss has left them one place above the drop zone, third from bottom in Gloucestershire and Wilts League Division One, and captain Richard Holbrook accepts his side are in a relegation dogfight.

He said: "With the two teams below us in the league, Winget and Dumbleton, winning and Goatacre, one place above us, losing, I think it is down to us four.

"Two from the four us will go down meaning our last four matches are going to be even more crucial than normal. Three wins will guarantee us safety but I think if we can get two victories we should be safe. I am scratching my head as to what has happened to us this season, it is very disappointing."

After opting to bat first, Trowbridge started quite well as openers Richard Greatorex (25) and Tom Oatley (29) took the score to 40 off just ten overs.

They then suffered a mini-collapse as they lost five wickets for just 45 runs to leave them 95-5 from 35 overs.

Holbrook added 25 to help the score to 161-9 from their allotted 50 overs.

Despite the loss of their wickets without a run on the board, Winget coasted to the total with four wickets and 15 overs in hand.

Trowbridge entertain Goatacre tomorrow in a relegation battle and Holbrook believes it is a must win game.
