JOHN Dilena scored an unbeaten 62 on Saturday to help steer Westbury to a three wicket win at home to Portishead.
After last week's defeat at Hambrook, Westbury responded in spirited fashion to hit the winning runs with two overs to spare.
Westbury made three changes from last week's disappointing defeat, bringing in Martin Dolman, Dave Callaway and Tom Baker.
Fielding first, Westbury made an immediate breakthrough as Mattie Dix trapped Mark Sills lbw to leave the visitors 3-1.
Wesbury continued to pick up wickets, with Mattie Dix finishing with 4-41, as Portishead finished on 170-7.
Westbury captain Joe Breet said: "I think they were lucky to reach that because with ten overs to go we had contained them but then they hit out and added some lucky runs."
In reply, Westbury found themselves in some early trouble as they were reduced to 38-3 until a steadying partnership of 45 between Martin Dolman and Andy Elliott took the total to 83 before Elliott was dismissed for 25.
Dilena then came to the wicket and with the help of the lower order batsmen he led Westbury to a three wicket victory.
Breet said: "It is always nice to get back to winning ways and although we were nervous at times I thought it was a deserved win.
"We are fifth in the league at the moment but with the exception of the top and bottom two teams everyone else is close, so we are hoping to move up a few more places."
