A FIRM has won a multi-million pound contract to supply hi-tech kit for the American Top Gun pilots.
BCF Designs of Cirencester has just sealed the $20 million deal and will be providing up to 1,025 fuel quantity test sets.
These are devices that test whether an aircraft's fuel measurement system, including sensors and wiring, is working properly and identifies any faults.
It is essential to ensure that the pilot receives accurate
data on fuel load.
BCF's sales support manager Alison Laferla said: "It's a terrific win for us, particularly if you look at who we were competing against."
The devices will go on aircraft including the F18, EA-6B, C130 and P3.
BCF employs 23 people at its Cirencester headquarters, including several from the Swin-don area.
It is now planning to open an office in America after winning this contract.
There may be a couple of people taken on in strategic roles.
Mike O'Brien, Minister of State for Trade and Investment said: "This is yet another excellent example of a UK company building valuable relationships with overseas markets."
