FIRMS across Swindon are being urged to think pink to help battle breast cancer.
Cancer Research UK will be running its annual Think Pink event from now until the end of November.
Organisers say it is the ideal chance for people to do their bit to help find a cure for the most common form of cancer in women.
About 40,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
And a woman has a one-in-nine chance of developing the disease in her lifetime.
Sophie James, the charity's Swindon spokeswoman, said: "There are a number of ways that people can get involved in this event to help make a difference.
"Bosses could ask staff to dress in pink or even organise a pink champagne evening. Family and friends can also get involved in this."
Although breast cancer deaths have fallen by 21 per cent over the past 10 years, Miss James stressed there is still a lot of work to be done.
"We need to raise as much money as possible through sponsored events," she said.
This year it's hoped Think Pink will raise £1 million.
The Ridgeway Hospital in Wroughton was one of the first to sign up. Anyone wanting further information should call 08701 602040.
