WILTSHIRE recorded their second Minor Counties Championship win of the season as they humbled Shropshire by nine wickets at Corsham.
The visitors, unbeaten in the championship this season, never recovered from losing the toss and seeing Wiltshire smash 347-7 off 90 overs before declaring.
Shropshire were then bowled out for 137. They were forced to follow on and were 26-3 in their second innings going into the final day and staring defeat in the face as they still trailed by 184 runs.
Unlike the first two rain-interrupted days the sun shone on Wiltshire as Jason Searle (Chippenham) took all three wickets to fall before lunch as Shropshire reached 136-6.
However, the visitors just saved the follow-on and were eventually all out for 223.
Needing 14 runs to win, Wilts opener Kevin Blackburn smashed 12 off the first over but with one run still needed lost his wicket. It was only a minor blip, though, as Wiltshire secured a maximum 24 points.
Scores: Wilts 347-7dec (Hibberd 118no) & 14-1, Shropshire 137 & 223 (Searle 4-90; Coles 2-0; Nash 2-20). Wilts (24pts) beat Shropshire (3pts) by 9 wkts.
