Raymond Tuffin, whose coffee morning raised £3,100 for Salisbury Hospice.WHEN it comes to raising money for charity, there is no one better than Raymond Tuffin, of Tisbury.
Mr Tuffin's splendid garden, in Tisbury Row, was the venue for a coffee morning last month, in aid of Salisbury Hospice, and, in just two hours, Mr Tuffin raised an astonishing £3,100.
Mr Tuffin said it was a continuation of the event he has held for the past few years.
Mr Tuffin, who is in his 60s and earns a living from gardening, said: "It's worth every minute.
"A few years ago, a dear friend of mine died in the hospice - they do a good job and support the community."
People at the coffee morning came from all over the district, including from Salisbury, Wilton, Harnham, Tisbury and Ansty.
Mr Tuffin paid tribute to his neighbours, who had helped him organise the annual event, saying: "The people round here are so generous."
