GAZETTE & HERALD: ONE man was airlifted to hospital and five other people were treated for minor injuries following a collision between three vehicles at the junction with Allington on the A420 on Saturday afternoon.
The injured man, who is believed to be from the Bristol area, was driving a red Vauxhall Corsa with two passengers towards Bristol at around 5.20pm, when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle swerved into the path of an incoming Landrover Freelander, being driven by a woman from Chippenham.
A grey Renault Clio carrying two men, which was travelling in convoy with the Corsa, then collided with both vehicles.
Police, ambulances and two Chippenham fire crews were called to the scene and the three men travelling in the Corsa and the female driver were ferried to hospital, but were later released.
The road was closed for three hours while accident investigators cleared the scene.
Witnesses to the accident are asked to contact Corsham Traffic Police on (01249) 654455.
