Four weeks after North Wiltshire Festival, its organisers are still waiting for an explanation for the absence of celebrity Jennifer Ellison.
The soap star and victor of the reality show Hell's Kitchen disappointed local fans when she did not turn up at the festival on July 17 as planned.
Organisers had hoped she would bring added glamour to the event, meeting fans, touring the festival grounds and visiting sponsors on their stands.
Putting together the pieces, festival organisers said it seemed that Neon Publishing, who took the booking, has been in discussion with Jennifer Ellison's management company about the non-appearance.
"We understand that the two organisations will be coming back to us with an explanation as to what happened," said district council spokesman Paul Langcaster.
"It is also thought that there will be some ideas about compensation. We understand that a meeting between the parties involved will take place within the next couple of days.
"However, it is right to say that as yet we have had no formal explanation as to why Jennifer Ellison did not appear at the North Wiltshire Festival.
"Although we are disappointed that so far we have had no formal explanation we are confident that this issue will be resolved in the near future."
He said it might be that blonde pin-up Jennifer Ellison was completely unaware of the booking.
Despite putting in several requests for an explanation over the past three weeks the Gazette is also waiting for an explanation.
