Approximately £1,300 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Relief at a charity garden supper in Easton Grey last weekend.
More than 100 people attended the evening at Donald Rich's home, Ruckley Cottage.
Guests paid £12.50 for a ticket, which included a cold buffet and a glass of wine.
The homemade food was brought by volunteers from the Sherston branch of Macmillan Cancer, and included salmon, quiche, salads and puddings.
Later there was a raffle of chocolates and alcoholic drinks.
Susan Thompson, 59, chairman of the Sherston branch of the Macmillan Cancer committee said the evening was splendid.
She said: "We really had a beautiful evening. Donald has a typical country garden. You can hear the water going over the waterfall and the garden was filled with torchlights and surrounding lanterns. It was very relaxing.
"I want to say thank you to all the Sherston committee and Mr Rich for his kind generosity in donating his garden. I have already had two letters from people telling me what a great evening they had."
Mrs Thompson said the next fund-raising event in Sherston would take place in September with the world's biggest coffee morning.
