Andy Beal picked up yet another trophy when he shot an eight-under-par 63 to win Salisbury & South Wilts Golf Club's Pro-Am Tournament. DA6143P1HIGH Post Golf Club's professional Andy Beal showed his class to win Friday's Pro-Am Tournament at Salisbury & South Wilts Golf Club.

The former European Tour player shot an eight-under-par 63 to close three shots ahead of his nearest rival.

There was glorious sunshine for the annual event at the popular Netherhampton venue.

Beal, who was almost forced to quit the sport two years ago after losing the sight in one eye through a tumour, beat more than 40 other professionals at the tournament.

Golf Mania's Mark Plummer was second with a five-under-par 66, with Newport's Richard Dinsdale a shot behind in third.

The Mitre Joinery-sponsored team of Peter Say, Alan Gibney and Steve Furness and led by High Post's David Hutton took the team award with a combined total of 23-under-par.

Chris Page-Swan won the longest drive with Tom Sherry bagging the straightest drive award.
