POLICE are looking for help in tracking down the driver of a hit and run accident that happened in Lady Lane, Blunsdon.
Pedestrian, Paul Bowden, was struck by a vehicle as he was walking along Lady Lane towards the A419 on Sunday between the Vicarage Motor Company and the Countrywide Stores.
He left hospital yesterday still suffering pain, discomfort and shock.
The police want to hear from anyone who may have information relating to unexplained damage to a vehicle belonging to someone they know or from garage staff who have been approached in the past few days for accident repairs, including windscreen replacement.
A police spokesman said: "It is very fortunate that this collision didn't result in a fatality.
"We are keen to hear from anyone with information, no matter how small, to help us find the callous driver who sped from the scene, knowing that his or her actions would have, without doubt, resulted in serious injury."
Callers are asked to contact Sgt Colin Conway or PC Dave Williams, Swindon Traffic Police on 01793 528111.
